About
Me

Alessandra Salazar began dancing at a local studio, in her hometown of Bayonne, NJ with ‘Mommy and Me’ classes. After years of training and curiosity, Salazar was invited to attend Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan where she graduated in 2018, under the tutelage of Joseph Morrissey. Alessandra received a scholarship to attend Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she will graduate with her BFA in Contemporary Dance Performance in 2022. As a student, Salazar has had the opportunity to perform works by William Issac, Jessica Castro, Maleek Washington, Christopher Flemming, George Balanchine, Megan Williams, and many more esteemed choreographers. She has attended numerous dance intensives including BalletX, Hubbard Street, Ballet Hispanico, Complexions, and Joffrey Ballet School. Battling Celiac Disease and Lupus, Alessandra realized her true passion for dance was her only place for solace after years of sickness. Finding ways to deepen her artistry within dance has become her therapy. In the future, Alessandra hopes to support other artists and performers suffering with chronic illnesses.
